The Cucumber is the fruit of an annual herbaceous plant (Cucumis sativus), of the family of cucurbits. The plant has large green leaves forming a canopy on the fruits, which are born from side shoots in the armpits of these. It emits tendrils, so it can be guided by a trellis or let it grow on the ground crawling. The stems, thick and thorny are divided into knots from which a tendril and a leaf are born.

Its fruit, the cucumber, is a vegetable with a more or less dark green or even yellowish skin, depending on the variety, with a cylindrical and elongated shape of about 30 cm. The interior is a white and aqueous pulp with small flattened seeds distributed along the body of the fruit.
